Skiing
Les Masses is situated at the quiet end of the "4 Vallees" skiing region which includes Verbier, Nendaz and Thyon.  With over 100 lifts and 400km of ski piste, the 4 Vallees is the largest linked ski area in Switzerland with good snow cover from early December to Easter. Chalet Claire is a 5 minute level walk from the nearest chair lift (where you can leave skis and boots overnight) with access to lots of other lifts nearby.  Because it is quiet there are rarely any queues.  It is possible to ski to Verbier and back in a day.
